World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria Cinematic Trailer
Blizzard has finally released the cinematic trailer for the new World of Warcraft expansion: “Mists of Pandaria”. As a huge fan of all things classified as “Blizzard art” I had no choice but to watch it… and boy was I surprised.
This has got to be one of the better game trailers I have seen from Blizzard so far; the artistic style is breathtaking and the animation is flawless. This specific expansion has been the butt end of almost every Warcraft joke out there because players can’t seem to take the ideas of pandas seriously. Before watching this I was afraid the trailer would suck, not because of the execution, but because of the attitude. Every previous expansion trailer has had a very serious tone, illustrating just how daunting and evil the enemies in the advertised expansion will be. With this expansion Blizzard kept their audience in mind and veered away from being super serious, and for once included humour!
It is safe to say that this trailer is the best one yet, mainly because Blizzard is working with current perceptions rather than against them. Many fans including myself, are warming up to the idea of an expansion featuring the Pandaren and their kick-ass lore.
