Watch: Brand New Fringe Season 5 Premiere Promo “Etta”

“They Are Coming”

An ominous message acts as the tagline to the final season of Fringe. While a season 5 trailer was released at ComicCon, this is the first promo to feature new footage of the fifth season. This teaser is for the season’s first episode now entitled “Etta”, short for “Henrietta”, the name of Peter and Olivia’s daughter.

We already know that season 5 will take place in the future and deal with the Observer invasion we glimpsed first in season 4′s “Letters in Transit”. Leave it to children to make a scary situation even creepier. This footage shows a younger Etta in a park with both her parents, Peter and Olivia, still alive and fighting as the Observers are closing in. We are given brief glimpses of the future world and other characters including September, Walter and Astrid, though no real clues as to when in time this is taking place. This short teaser gives us a lot of fodder for speculation as we wait for Fringe to return at the end of September.

Fringe Etta

I don’t know about you but this teaser really has feeling optimistic (though I’m certain there will be heart-crushing moments) about the final 13-episodes of Fringe!

Fringe returns September 28th on Fox.
