Listen to: JD McPherson

It’s not always easy to find contemporary artists who sound as though they’ve been dug out from the bottom of a very dusty record crate but JD McPherson manages to play rock & roll and R&B music ilke it’s 1955 again. Hailing from a punk rock background, McPherson released his debut album, ‘Signs and Signifiers’ and has been filling the eardrums of punk, rockabilly and soul fans alike ever since.

If you’re ready to hear a man deliver some righteous rock n’ roll then check out his video for the song, ‘Firebug’ and give his album a listen. If JD McPherson doesn’t make you shake what your mama gave ya, then there’s something seriously wrong.

JD McPherson plays the Horseshoe Tavern in Toronto on Tuesday, October 9 and G33KPRON is giving away a pair of tickets. Find out how to enter here.
